Stopped by before heading out of town. Staff was amazing, party of 6 with mostly kids is a pain sometimes. The decor is super cute. The food was okay. I had the eggs Benedict & I think the hollandaise sauce was old & the eggs were cook hard.
Got stuck in Amarillo and was excited to try this place. Put in an order and they called and said they had no cobbler but happy to make it for us. When we got there they said they wouldn't make it. They couldn't figure out how to issue a refund and 3 of our 4 items were wrong. The next day my friend went to pick up a slice of cobbler when they opened and they were also out? We decided to order a day later because we wanted avocado toast. They called and told me they had no avocados? I asked if I could cancel and the pers... read more
Food was good and hot. Service was horrible. We (2 of us) were sat in a corner booth, the waitress acknowledged others that were seated after us. She definitely wasn't observant. Finally brought us our drinks and said she'd come back for our order. Again, took a long time. Wasted about 1 1/2 hrs there. We love Black Bear Diner just not sure we'll we back to this location. We were driving from Okla. to NM and the diner was right off I-40 very convenient location for people driving thru town.
We ordered a prime rib dinner medium rare. The prime rib was cold. They took it back and brought a new one which was well done. I had to ask for the salad, which came with the meal because our server didn't realize it did. We also never received the cornbread which came with the meal. Terrible service. I will not return.
Big mistake! We were in Texas and wanted steak. Big Bear sounded like it could deliver. It's a chain restaurant at a truck stop! No steak on the menu. Got burgers instead. Whoever decided that mayonnaise should go on a hamburger should be locked in a room with 30 screaming toddlers for a week! One of the worst burgers I've ever had.
Lunch....chicken avocado club...rubber chicken, wilted lettuce...bad choice, should have ordered breakfast! Service: only 3 other tables in the restaurant, decent service...several dirty tables, no movement to clean them...
Service and food were terrible! Had a ruebens - brought me a patty melt that was inedible. Oops- mistake - brought me my Ruebens - little sauerkraut, NO thousand island dressing. Worst place i have ever eaten!!! Wont let me post this?????? Trying to post and doesn't work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sucked!
Was seated quickly but no server for about 10 minutes. When she arrived she said she could take our order but not turn it in "because of all this" and waved toward a mostly empty dining room, as if every table was full. In other words, there would be an undetermined delay in when the order was turned in, and when it was actually cooked. Since the person telling me this didn't have a grasp on reality, I realized I didn't want our fate in her hands so we got up and left. The place looked nice and was well separated from the r... read more
No one working! No hostess, waitress looked exhausted - she might have also been cashier with a line 8 people deep. Didn't trust it to stay. Very few tables were full. Didn't trust staying to try it.
