If there are potential customers waiting in the lobby when you arrive, GO somewhere else, the staff is content with that, and will treat you like your existence there is a bother! Probably not the same feelings of ownership, but they appeared to not be around, my group of 8 went somewhere we were at least recognized, we suggest you steer clear of Blank Stare Diner in Elk Grove!
Tuesday evening about 4pm my family and I decided to check out the new black bear in Elk Grove. We were excited because we love black bear and we frequent black bear often. This Black Bear Dinner was also closer to us then Roseville or Natomas Locations. We went in and were seated right away, our waiter Steve came over and introduced himself. 1st time we went service and food was ok. Last night we went and sat there for what felt like forever before our waitress greeted us and took our drink orders, by this time a table that had been seated after us had already had their order taken and we had already decided on our food. It once again took along time for food to come out, I was missing the mushrooms I had ordered for my steak, my husband was also missing his pancakes he ordered. Not as good as other Black Bear Diners... The restaurant wasn't busy and still took exceptional long to get our food and one we got our food it was cold. Won't be returning to this location. Returned again last night 1/21/16 and yet another horrible experience. I figured they had been open long enough that they finally would have gotten their act together but this is not true.
