While the food is fair, the service is bad...LOOONNNGGG wait and very little communication from the host/hostess. Will be reluctant to go back to the Elk Grove diner.
I'm writing this as I'm sitting here and clearly one of the worst customer service experiences I ever had . this is only my second time there. Our server didn't really pay my kids and I much attention and I know he was busy attending other tables but I felt he could have been better attentive . I don't usually like to write negative reviews towards any Establishment and as far as the food...the food was pretty good but when it takes 15 minutes to even get water after asking twice and then having to ask another server for sai... read more

Terrible service, an hour for the meal and made every excuse in the book. Then had the nerve to ask if they should dicount the meal that i didnt eat. I will never never go again not even for a free meal.

If you've never eaten at Black Bear Diner in Elk Grove, don't waste your money. The food was HORRIBLE! The only thing I liked was the corn bread muffin. The dog will be eating well tonight - steak for Beelah. Yuck.
