Waited quite awhile to be seated. A/C barely working. Ordered pot roast, it was tough and so salty I couldn't eat it. Sent it back and asked for a Belgian waffle, which was okay but $10 for just the waffle. My husband ordered the waffle/ham/egg combo- asked for his egg over medium, came out over easy.

Food is great but service is slow. They had 15 tables open and dirty but a 35 minute wait. I'm guessing short on labor causing them to run so far below capacity.

Yesterday I would have given Black Bear 5 stars. Don't know what happened to them. While our service was 5 star our food was awful. My fried chicken was a leftover, over fried mess. It was so dried out you could hardly eat any of it. My Grandson had a hamburger which was good but his fries were also dried out and hard. I am from Paradise, CA and loved the fried chicken at our Black Bear Diner. In fact we were supposed to go there to celebrate my 70th birthday on the day the fire came through and burned our town down. I was s... read more

8 hours away from home snd limited options on Thanksgiving Day, we found ourselves at Black Bear Diner for our celebration. It was definitely a busy spot. We waited 20 minutes to get it. When we were seated there was trash all over the floor. We ordered the Turkey dinner to share and an extra salad and piece of pumpkin pie. The salads we fresh and dressing good. But when he delivered them, he added to the mess on the floor by spilling blobs of salad dressing there. The Turkey dinner was cold and did not taste great. They wer... read more
