Being from La. I am a big fish eater but especially southern fried catfish. Black Bear advertised all you can eat fish for $8.99. I knew it wouldn't be catfish but thought it would at least be decent. Turned out all I could eat wasn't very much. It was Pollock or so I was told. Overcooked (tough) dry and greasy at the same time. I didn't detect any seasoning what so ever. My daughter didn't fare too well either. Really wish I could post a picture. I ordered , then left once I got it. All three items were burned. The poached eggs were broke. I get that I'm a single guy by myself, but that wouldn't have been served to anyone. That is a lack of quality control. Please contact me for the picture. Came in and was told there was a 20 minute wait. After about 45 minutes, my wife took a peek at the list, and we had been skipped by multiple other groups. We inform the host that we had been skipped, he looked and saw it himself, said he would seat us next as he called another group up... skipping us again. We wait another 25-30 minutes for our food. RecommendedI had the fish and chips yesterday, thought I'd try a fish dish again, not their best, I haven't liked the shrimp or the fish and chips but other menu choices have been great
Pancakes were tasty but eggs were undercooked (ordered over med and got over easy) and potatoes were not cooked through. Server tried to make it right but at that point was not really caring much. She never bother to check after dropping off order so took time to get fixed and others were done eating. My pet pieve for sure. It was moms day and was busy so hot 3 stars not 2.

Good quick service, friendly just took a long time to seat us, there were visible open tables
First bad experience today. Cold eggs, cold biscuits, and hashbrowns tasted like they had been out all day and were just microwaved before they were served. Hair on butter and on the chicken fried steak. Staff was nonchalant when we mentioned it. Have been coming to Black Bear for years but will think twice before going again.
We were very disappointed with the quality of the food, the portions were entirely too big, both of our potatoes were under cooked and our eggs were cold, definitely won't be going back.
