In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. This place is absolutely wonderful. The service was great, the food was great and our waitress, Barbara, was just wonderful. We will definitely be returning back to Black Bear soon. Highly recommended. I also recommend the rib-eye. Seasoned to perfection!

I ordered the veggie omelette and my wife ordered the California omelette. The food was delicious, the service was awesome, and the prices are fair. We will definitely visit again!

1st time here and I'll definitely come back. The pancakes taste so good they don't need syrup. Now, I put syrup on them because it's the right thing to do :). I had the Grizz and I'd swear they must have special pigs where they get their bacon, ham, and sausage from. Absolutely delicious. Staff was nice and even had a visit from the manager to see how we were doing. Already know what I'm going to try when I go back. Check this place out if you haven't yet.
