Check your food carefully!! We received takeout tonight and it was completely inedible and unsafe!! The eggs Benedict had hollandaise sauce that looked like it sat out all day and due to the dairy ingredients would make someone sick if they consumed it. The bacon burger looked like it was left on the grill as long as the hollandaise was sitting out - all day! Me and my family visiting from out of town came in to the Rancho Cucamonga diner today. The place is nice and the food is great, but our waiter was not too friendly and seemed a little on edge I believe his name was Mario. It made all of us on edge. As you look around at the other waiter and waitresses they are all happy and smiling. It was busy today so I don't know if he realized he was coming off that way.

I came to the Black Near Diner today with my husband and our service dog. My husband and I felt a little uncomfortable by the way they looked at us for bringing the dog in. They sat us at the first booth by the door and there were a lot of empty booths there. Meanwhile we had a server named Mario who was not too friendly, but more in a rush to move on to the next table. Went there for Thanksgiving lunch 2025. We were told we could get broccoli or green beans. We were there for for early lunch.. They were out of broccoli already. got mushy green beans. Asked about substitution roll for corn bread was told they didn't have dinner rolls, yet someone in our party got "biscuits". Requested horseradish for prime rib. Got straight horseradish. The worst corn beef hash I've ever had. Awful. Followed by sketchy service from a very unpleasant server. Asked for coffee twice before it came. My friend asked for a to go box that never came. She ended up getting it herself. Biscuits were good. I'd rather go to Dennys.

Normally I don't leave reviews, but this experience deserves one. My son and I waited over 30 minutes on a slow day, only to watch multiple tables that were seated after us get their orders while we still patiently waited for ours. It was just the two of us, and I was only ordering a few sides--nothing complicated. We finally told our server we were leaving because it was taking too long to get our order, and all he said was, "I'm sorry." I have always been a fan of black bear diner but I usually go to the location in la habra. This is my first time trying this location in Rancho, and I ordered an online pickup. The server, who was packaging my food I noticed was previously cleaning the facility's floor pulling trash out of a vacuum. He did not wash his hands once he was done then proceeded to package my food items. At this point I chose to not take the food and cancel the order because of the uncleanliness.
