In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. THE FOOD! OMG the food. In my perpetual laziness I have ordered food from everywhere. I decided to try Black Bear out and haven't looked back. This is what I've learned: PROs: Everything is good. I have mostly ordered from the breakfast menu, however, we recently ordered dinner and I was blown away. Hence why I wrote this review. Portions are also great. Juan was our server, bringing us our delicious lunches. He was professional, friendly, and efficient. We visit this diner often and enjoy every visit. Everything we order is wonderful. The pies are delicious and I save special occassions to buy one to take home. They are yummy! My favorite is the cherry pie.
