In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. 5 stars for the service! Juan helped us this morning, and we remembered him from Mike's Diner. He was very thorough and attentive. The portions, as always, are huge. We had the Grizz, the Volcano, and Meat Lover's Omelette for 4 people, and we have plenty of leftovers to make another breakfast round. The hashbrowns was a letdown, but the country potatoes were cooked well. We also had the fresh squeezed OJ on Juan's rec - they were refreshing and not overly sweet. Oh man why did it takes so long for me to eat at this place?!!!! I was pleasantly surprised by their food and love their diner coffee. The place was super clean with a fast service! We definitely got our money worth in coffee for me! Go check them out . Great place for big parties. Wish they had more vegan options.best breakfast I had since moving to Valencia! Thank you ! Great customer service! We hadn't visited any black bear diners other than in nor cal, we had a great experience and Juan's attention to service was excellent. We will be back soon
