In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. We had a great experience, we were a party of eight. The wait was about 20 minutes before we were seated. The sever was very friendly, and very attentive. We were served in 10 minutes from the time we gave our order. No one had issues with their order. Even though the dinner was very busy, we weren't rushed to finish and leave. Thank you.
We tried it in reno for the first time and it was perfect ! So we decided to go back to black bear sunnyvale for our last day of holiday in California .. it was really good except for the pancakes that didn't seem freshly baked .. it was hard and dry .. happy but a bit disappointed in comparison with our experience in reno.
Love the food. I've been to Modesto, Milpitas and now Sunnyvale and will keep going for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fun place to be.
