In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. This BBD has only been opened since Aug 2023, which is barely 3 months ago. The decor is cute and classy. The location is great, conveniently off the freeway and close to gas station and a travel store, just before hitting crazy Phoenix traffic. Christopher, our server, was fabulous. He greeted us from behind the counter when we walked in, seated us as soon as he was able, introduced to us the newspaper menu and what's inside. The restaurant was quiet this morning and the service was great! The food was delicious, just like in the many other Black Bear Diners that we have visited. Our server Kaleena was very attentive and refilled our coffee cups before we reached the bottom of the cups!

Hidden gem in a driving desert. Delicious breakfast and interesting conversation. The service was good and fast. The truckers have great stories and it is interesting to hear how things are run through the country.

OTR Truck driver here! Great food great service. One waitress even got me and the table next to me water while our waitress was in the back slicing fresh lemons. Inwhich she informed us and asked if we needed anything beforehand. Best most softest biscuits and potatoes I've ever had hands down. I eat all over the country....also I've ate at 5/6 Black Bear Diners all across the country. And they're all the same to me. Go check em out.

Great meal with large portions at fair price. Biscuits are HUGE. Very clean. Wonderful service by servers. Newly opened so be patient because the kitchen is very slow, but servers never let you feel neglected
