My aunt, aged 95, was diagnosed with late-onset Alzheimer's disease. In November 2017 I was asked by the consultant to arrange daycare for her (she was a self-funder). From the lists of agencies given me by the social worker, I chose Bluebird Care Camden & Hampstead as it was the only agency with an outstanding rating by the CQC. They provided carers to wash and dress her, cook her meals, clean her flat, and do the laundry and shopping. I cared for my mother, who had advanced Alzheimer’s, for the past 4 years and used Bluebird Care for support with her care needs. I can honestly say, that I was so very fortunate and grateful to have the amazing carers that I did. Mum's regular carers were knowledgeable, empathetic, professional and client-focused. The main Bluebird carer I have had this past year is intelligent and understanding of my needs (I am 98 years old) and is quick to my needs. The same applies to other carers I have had at the weekends, so my general experience is good.
Bluebird works hard to ensure clients are cared for with compassion and as efficiently as possible. Clients can be fairly demanding and requests are dealt with thoughtfully and, as far as possible, answered speedily. Clients are notified when a carer may be late and this is much appreciated. My husband has suffered a number of falls recently and I have been gratified to see how carers have approached these, treating him gently, patiently and with professionalism. As we live far away from our Aunt, we rely heavily on Bluebird Care Camden & Hampstead to give her constant good care. We are very pleased with the attitude of the carers attending her and some are exceptional. Bluebird has provided excellent care for my parents. Both are in their late nineties and very independent but have established a marvellous rapport with their carers. As their health and mobility reduce, Bluebird has been extremely responsive and helpful in identifying where additional assistance would be helpful. We use Bluebird Care Camden and Hampstead when we stay regularly in a London hotel for weekends away. We really enjoy visiting theatres and seeing friends and family. My partner requires a lot of moving, handling and personal care. Then hoisting into her wheelchair, as she has a progressive physical condition. The carers do this with professionalism, understanding and dignity. They are always on time and give us the opportunity to get away from home. They are consistent with the carers provided. Bluebird were exceptional in caring for Dad whilst dealing with the complexities of a sensitive safeguarding situation in the family home. Carers brought much light into Dad’s life by chatting with him, making nourishing food, and wheelchair walks to his beloved local park. This put immense glory back into Dad’s life, making him very happy. When Bluebird arrived in the family home Dad was wheelchair bound.
