This was our first time buying a home so we relied on them to educate us on the process as they are the professionals who do this everyday. We went into contract in November/December 2021 and in April 2022 we were told to lock in a rate as rates were rising. We were able to lock our rate at 5.5% which added a significant amount to the mortgage payment from the original approval at 3.5%.
