I've tried to order food a few times at this restaurant but the service was so slow, I walked out. Tried again this morning at 7:30 to get a bagel and coffee. I was the only one in the place and it took more than 10 minutes to get my food, then the 2 people behind the counter called someone from the back room to bag and hand me my food. My bagel was so stale, I couldn't eat it. Terrible food, terrible service.

Business response:

Shirlee, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent visits to Brooklyn Deli. We sincerely apologize for the slow service you experienced and the quality of the bagel you received. We strive to provide prompt service and fresh, delicious food to all our customers, and it's clear we fell short during your visits. Honestly was expecting more from this restaurant given the grand entrance and the beautifully designed retro diner vibe inside. The pastrami sandwich looked amazing but was okay- nothing spectacular to write home about. Could be made a little bit warmer/hotter too. The hot dog was standard, and I feel like it would've tasted the same if I just ordered from the NY street carts. I don't even know where to begin with the pickle - is it even a pickle?? It sure looked liked it, but barely tasted like one. I can't even really say ... read more

Good cashier. Fast service. Bus boy was great. Black and white cookies were great. Decent prices too. My only complaint was management standing around talking and taking up seats in a limited seating dining space. Right across from the theater which was perfect for us!

fiesta salad tasted sour and a few of the workers were rude and totally ignored my friend when she asked a question about the omelette. lol It was very bizarre.

Surprised and delighted... we were looking for a bite to eat in the Times Square area that was not a national chain place and found this. Staff and service were friendly and nice. Food was good. There are some legendary delis here in NYC but we found a good pastrami and matzoh ball soup here. Both tasted fresh and delicious. My kids also enjoyed milk shakes. We did not save room for dessert but the chocolate cake and the cheesecake looked good. The price is more moderate and there is a variety of menu items. And on our visit... read more

Good food, good service, the staff was warm and polite. Wife had the matzo soup me and my son had the salmon bagel. Her soup was really good. The hot apple cider is awesome especially since it's 35 degrees out.

Great environment with friendly service. Food is really delicious and reasonably priced. Didn't plan on eating here, but I'm glad I did.

This is not your regular Delicatessen. It checks all the boxes. Good food, good cocktails, excellent service, times square central location and has a free satin dollz show. The pastrami reuben is a must try

What a fun, fun place!!! The food was delicious, potato salad out of this world and a delicious delicious hotdog which I was craving! my friend got the pepperoni pizza, huge and delicious! Boudjema was the manager and I want to take him back to Salt Lake with me! What a wonderful young man! Everyone there was upbeat, happy and so damn nice! A lot of the people working there. Stop by to ask us how our meal was and just smile. I'm a sucker for smiles. We ended up staying 2 1/2 hours and caught the satin dollz . Terrific 1940 t... read more
