This restaurant is reliable, a good value, and offers a good selection. I would describe the type of food as comfort food., well prepared, but not over done. The service is excellent from the greeting at the door, to a great server, and a thank you as you leave.
What can I say, We’re in NYC for our honeymoon & also was here for thanksgiving, we’re from Ireland and wanted the experience and I’m delighted to say it was delicious. I booked this table from my home and had a reminder to see if I was still coming (brilliant) we arrived about 10/15 minutes early and we were seated right away. Unfortunately we didn’t have dessert as we were full, but we landed back the next day for a cheesecake & cookie (excellent) look this place up if you’re ever coming to NYC and you won’t be disappointe... read more
I love this place! The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The food is really good and plentiful. I usually share a sandwich for lunch. All the options are delicious. It’s the perfect place to go before theatre. You can be in and out quickly or take your time, as you please.
Night out with family. Wonderful experience. Our waiter, Keith, was outstanding and made our evening in NYC all the more enjoyable!
Great pastrami sandwich and an awesome diner feel. Kids loved it too and the waiter helped us order for them to not spend a fortune.
This was our first time dining at Brooklyn Diner which we picked specifically because of their turkey dinner plate. We got there in advance of our reservation and even though it was crowded we were seated early. Our server was spectacular! He was great at accommodating our kids despite the lack of available kids menus and made the best Shirley Temples. We’re keeping this place in mind for our next trip to NYC.
Thanksgiving dinner. Divine, but the best of our meals was not the Thanksgiving Turkey plate, but the pot pie. Yum!
There is much that is positive. The hostess and our server were both friendly and accommodating. We did not feel rushed. Although it was crowded, the noise level allowed for conversation. The prices are on the high side, but this is the theater district. On the other hand, this is a restaurant and the food should be good. Nothing we ordered was good. Nothing was bad either, except for the mashed sweet potatoes. Everything was fair. That was disappointing.
A great meal before our broadway show! Portions are huge- plan to share.
