This is a GREAT printer When I bought this I thought "what a great price I guess it is worth a try.". This was the best purchase I made all year. This printer is economical, light weight, and has a GREAT sheet feed scanner/copier capability. If it has one fault I would say it is that the LED screen is a bit hard for my old eyes to see but once set up it is not a problem. The software works just fine and it is a charm to set up. One of the best Brother multifunction printers have the best combination of features, such as OCR and good document feeder, at a good price. I had gone through many of their models, but their ink-jets do not last long after the ink dries or with sensor issues, so I switched to laser for a little bit more. This only prints in black/white, but it is built well and works well.
A line on the side It has a line at the line at the side of the paper when I make a copy from the feeder.
Great printer fast and seems to use less ink than my old type. Not as noisy as I'd feared based on other reviews
Great Multifunction Printer When my old Fax Machine crapped out, I bought this pretty much as a desperation purchase. I was done with film and inkjet faxes. This unit turned out to be so good I use it for everyday printing, which saves wear and tear on my color LaserJet. Fax works great, great copier, and great printer. I've had it over a year (16 months) and love it. On my third toner cartridge (I expect I'll have to replace the drum soon) and it shows no signs of wear.
Great Printer The only gripe I have is the toner cartridge it ships with is good for only 500 pages. It works great as a scanner and printer.
Works great Purchased this to replace an older fax/copier that I could no longer get good replacement cartridges for. The factory replacement cartridges of the old printer cost more than this printer (when they were available). The Brother factory replacement cartridges for this printer are *far* more economical. Have used it for maybe a month, it works well. Reasonably well made. Only complaints are: The output tray is kind of hard to see when a FAX comes in. The LCD panel is hard to read. About as good as it gets for $150 I owned several Brother printers. Sent my kids to college with the small HL series. I'm still using an HL-20 with a manufactured date of 2004. Never regretted any Brother purchase. This particular model has an amazing amount of features for $150. The document feeder is particularly useful for both scanning and faxing (yes, it's still better to fax than email some people and businesses). It's pretty big, and kinda noisy at times. Great unit. Great Global delivery service to Mexico I ordered this product on a Sunday through Amazon's rapidly expanding Global delivery service to serve customers outside the U.S. The predicted delivery date, via the less expensive of two shipping options, was something like ten to fifteen days. But it came on Thursday of the same week. The Customs duties, taxes and delivery are all calculated into the price you see when you finalize the order online.
