Tapas was good, most of the selections were quite good. We had the sangria, which I thought was a mistake. Not tasty, and the fruit flavors were overwhelmed by a below-average wine. Neat atmosphere makes the place, however.
Still Crazy after all these years Haven't been in for 11 years and while passing through Chicago (looking to change jobs) I had a wonderfull evening of Tapas and Spanish wine. It doesn/t get any better in the US and if I get that job here (wish, wish) I will be back sooner than later. Pros + consistant, Great Tapas, Great Wines
The tapas here is fairly good (for Chicago). I haven't tried the main courses because you can eat quite well on just the tapas. It's kinda loud, though. It's hard to have a conversation, but there are lots of people to look at.
A fun place to go with a large group. All the tapas are good and it is a fun activity to share with the group. I as a little dissappointed when I found it was part of a chain. I felt like it was a little less authentic. Still good food at a fun place.
love it! I have been frequenting Cafe Babareeba for years, and always have a good time. Friday and Saturday nights are to be avoided. It gets too crazy, and you have to have patience. If you do go on the weekend, you will find that the back bar is the best bet if you don't have a reservation. I rarely have to wait there, and you can order food at the bar. I really enjoy this restuarant and I wish I was able to visit it more often. I highly reccommend this place, even for first or blind dates. The atmosphere is fun and casual enough that it will help break the ice for anyone!!
Great tapas and paella We went on a Thursday night and were seated before our reservation time. Tapas, both hot and cold, were very good. The lobster and scallop paella was awesome! Great sangria with fresh fruit and the desserts- which are also small plates, so you can order more (!)- were also very good. Will definately be back! Great tapas but too crowded for their own good Although the night started out a bit shaky (they were running almost an hour past our reservation time) once we sat down, we were greeted with exceptional service which remained consistent throughout the rest of the evening.
