Cafe Fiorello is an institution across the street from Lincoln Center, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch on the weekends. Fiorello's is a great spot for pre-theater dining. Open late each night, the restaurant is also perfect for a post-theater dinner, a light bite at the antipasto bar, or cocktails and dessert.

Cafe Fiorello is the perfect pre/post theater restaurant. Food and service were excellent. Only drawback, you're sitting on too close to the table next to you and the check in area is not sitiated in a good spot. Too much hustle and bustle with waiter and patrons waited to be seated.
Second visit to this gem, conveniently across street from Lincoln Center and the Met. Delicious food, attentive friendly service, no sense of need to hurry from the table, despite the throngs outside, trying to get in. We arrived on time for our reservation and, even though there was a huge crowd at the door, we were immediately shown to our table. No "take a drink at the bar and we'll call you" here! The room hums with a vibrancy that promotes a sense of fellowship so guests at adjoining tables find themselves talking and l... read more
On a weekend , the restaurant cannot get everyone out for theater in time . Get there before 6 pm.
Fiorellos restaurant offers excellent food and wine at reasonable prices. The ambience is nice if not special. It is a bit crowded with tables quite close together. This also increases the overall noise level above a romantic dinner.
I have been to Fiorello for years and it is one of my favorite place in NY for the veal parmigiana. This time, it was not great. The veal was spicy, the open lasagna was over cooked with too much herbs and we sent back the Ceasar salad that was bitter. We had a great waiter and overall experiebce was fair.
The food was very good, location was perfect for a pre-Opera dinner. Very convenient. However at 6pm the place was so crowded. Service was not affected at all, but trying to get to and from our table in the back of the restaurant was a challenge. Very close quarters in the back room, I really don't know how the waiters maneuver thru. All in all, a great spot. I would definitely go back if I was in the area.
Almost always crowded and noisy, this is still a great place for Italian food. The classic Italian options are there but several interesting interpretations to old favorites are also offered.
There's not much else in the area that's neither expensive nor pretentious. Fiorello's is a long time favorite for good food, efficient service and unpretentious charm. Long may it remain.
Perfect venue for dinner prior to an evening at the Met. Just a short walk across the street providing excellent food and service. The appetizers are fantastic and the menu does not disappoint. Highly recommend for a romantic dinner before a night at the opera.
