Very good Italian restaurant in the Lincoln Center area. Not cheap but has quickly become one of my wife's favorites.
THe menu tries to rewrite old favorites. Eggplant parmiagana came in a tower with the skin on the eggplant and the filling inside - did not resemble the original dish at all and should be called something else. Veal was tough. The location is terrific across from lincoln center but I am not tempted to return.
Thank you again to everyone at Café Fiorello. We had a delicious dinner and made it to the opera with plenty of time.
Took a friend here for lunch for her 70th birthday and they could not have been nicer even giving us complimentary glasses of prosecco and her favorite dessert. Now that's service and thoughtfulness! and it's not hectic mid-day which is lovely.
What a great experience!!! We were a party of eight and from the time we arrived (earlier than our reservation) the staff could not have been friendlier and attentive. Our waiter Andrew was a charm, he broke into song while we were waiting for our brunch....his bass baritone voice was wonderful...... Our dining experience started off our visit to NYC and the Lincoln Center to see The King and I.

As a result server arms must be thrust across tables and patrons in a way that anyone who cares about the dining experience would find intolerable. This is not the servers fault. They are excellent. Management needs to sacrifice a little revenue; small sacrifice indeed if it results in a better experience for staff and customer.
Cafe Fiorello's location across Broadway from Lincoln Center makes it an obvious choice for pre or post Opera or Philharmonic meals. Sidewalk tables add to its appeal. But what has kept us coming back for years is a combination of consistently prepared (if not adventurous) food, a professional and welcoming staff, and (for us) just the right level of cheerful noise and bustle. In short: for a restaurant dealing with a volume business, especially around performance times, they have their act together. Tables are close but ple... read more
Very friendly, efficient service...food was delicious and attactive. wines were priced well and they had a good selection. During dinner they passed around warm cookies...very nice! We were able to enjoy a leisurely dinner and did not have to rush to get to the theatre on time. Will go back.
You can never go wrong as the food service and location is the best for pre and after opera, theatre ballet and symphony!!
