I remember when Fiorello's first opened, what, 40+ years ago? It's grown in size and concept over the years but always maintained its high standards of excellent food, service and fun. It changes with the times, updating but still bring a favorite we can rely on.
We hadn't eaten here in a few years and found the menu changed---or maybe it's just that we were more familiar with the dinner menu than the lunch menu. But the bread basket is still excellent and the open-face lasagne was quite good although too large for one person. Pappadelle eggplant (sp?) was good as well. Service was excellent.
I have been eating at this restaurant in the last ten years and always enjoyed the food despite some occasional tweaks regarding the temperature of the pizzas.Recently they changed the antipasti formula in a way that prices them like jewelry.....I think management should review the pricing in the menu if it wants to keep the fidelity of its long time neighborhood clientele and not rely only on Lincoln Center comers.
Although its best feature is its proximity to Lincoln Center, it's also a decent place to eat. Just be prepared to be jostled about if you're there before or after an event, even with a reservation. The crowds trying to get in and out can be daunting. They also know their regulars so don't be surprised if some around you are treated a bit better than the rest. Don't expect the best table unless you are among the chosen. But, once settled in its worth the effort. The entree portions are large so before an event we love to cho... read more
On Saturday we celebrated my husband's birthday and the staff could not have been nicer. They greeted my husband and wished him a happy birthday. He was thrilled. But the food was the real treat. The burratta was the best. Made twice daily it is so fresh. There were 4 in our party and we sampled three of the choices.I loved the burratta with fava beans, olives and anchovies. The fresh pastas melt in your mouth. I had the ravioli stuffed with ricotta and spinach with argula It was the best pasta ever and I have been to Rome s... read more
Busy with Lincoln Center crowds and neighborhood shoppers. I picked appetizers from the buffet at the counter, and caesar salad, both great. Fish for dinner was moist and well presented. Loved my waiter, "Joel". Despite bad weather and arriving a few minutes late the maitre'd seated us quickly and Joel was prompt with our service in order to get us out in time for the symphony. A
The food, service and prices were all perfect.
Very welcoming and cozy atmosphere. Excellent service. Food and wine were delicious. Staff had good knowledge of dishes and bottle pairing. Certainly one of my favorites and ideal location for Lincoln Center events.
Staff is great at getting you out on time for your curtain. Menu has variety, price-y but worth it.
