I've been going to the derm for my alopecia, and recently went in again for an allergic reaction. My skin is already getting better. I was sad when Dr. Panagotacos retired, but Dr. Aaron Chen has been great: knowledgeable, thorough, extremely friendly, and up to date with modern treatments. Since Schweiger took over, the patient portal hasn't been as intuitive, and communication can be tricky. But that doesn't take away from the excellence of the doctor and medical staff

Where to begin. I had a rec for an MD at the San Mateo location. Went to see her for a flat mole that had started growing and instead she tried to upsell me on fillers (she looked like she was marketing all those fillers, too). Took a look at the mole and said it was "unremarkable" and said it was all in my head. Then a friend recommended the Presidio Heights location so I drove up there - more upselling tricks though this time from a male MD who looked like he was also doing a touch -- he took my case more seriously but end... read more

I had good experiences here a few years ago with a doctor I used to see, Dr. Tumeh, who left the practice. I then transitioned to Dr. Chansky, who consistently had long wait times to actually start appointments (usually ~45 minutes of sitting in the room), which were about 5 minutes long once actually started. I decided this wasn't an acceptable level of service for me and canceled my recurring annual appointment. ...or at least, I thought I did. Do not go here unless you enjoy being frustrated! I've been to CSI for about a year and a half and have been to the following locations: Marina/cow hollow, Presidio, Nob Hill and Daly City. The reason for that is because I really liked my provider, Danielle Daravos. She was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, this review is not about her whatsoever. Went in for a consultation. Waited over an hour to be seen. Was seen for 10 minutes and recommended a procedure that was not suitable for my skin tone. 2 months later I received a bill for $600. So no, I do not recommend. Currently filing a dispute for this. This place is lame.

Garbage place. Spent 5min with me, said a bunch of medical jargon and ran off. Never received medical notes even after calling twice. Also received an unexplained and unnecessary prescription which I am now out $200

both of my kids have left messages to either make an appointment or to refill a prescription. Never received a call back. Unacceptable. I had to walk into the office to make the appointment for my daughter. Once you have the appointment, the Doctors and PA's are fine.

Their services weren't great (missed a skin cancer that had to be removed by another physician) and their billing was worse (mis-billed, lost track of my payment despite sending them the receipt). They've also been sending me junk mail for years, despite repeated requests to stop. So I tried to opt out of that under the 2018 California Consumer Privacy Act, but they list a fake email address on the privacy policy, so it bounced back. Super scammy. Avoid.

I tried for several months to reach California Skin Institute billing department to find out about my charges. No success. Always getting the same massage to contact with me within 72 hours. Never replied. Its absolutely terrible service. I sand a massage to website e-mail. No response.
