$300 for a 10min (too short) consultation after a 15min wait (too long for an appointment), all for a "supply chain" like service...while charging my insurance for a 30-45min consultation...sounds like someone should look into how legal this is.

Best doctor ever. Dr Hsiao. No complaints. CSI however is the worst billing service. First, ended up with huge bills as office did not inform me that their contract with my insurance was not renewed. This after a ten year relationship with the doctor. Five registered letters and dozens of calls without response. Less resilient people would just give up and pay bills not reviewed. No one returns calls. No one answers phone. Big business has ruined good physicians. I mourn the inability to see our great doctor but advise you t... read more

I was a few minutes late to my appointment, so knew things may be a bit rushed. But I was disappointed at how cursory the interaction was, and the lack of thoroughness, given this was my first-time in. During the appointment, I was not able to find my stash of photos showing my condition's (lack of) progress over time so the nurse said they'd follow-up with information on how to access their portal where I could upload the photos securely. They never followed up. They prescribed me a medication for treatment and when I went... read more

16 days ago I went to have a dry spot on my lip examined. Unfortunately it was examined and " treated" by Dr. Lowenstein. Since it was diagnosed Actinic keratosis ( dry scaly patch which could be precancerous") he treated it with liquid nitrogen. Not only did he treat the tiny spot( less than a pencil eraser head) , he full on blow torched my entire lower lip. Not once, but twice. Huge blisters formed within the hour. I was told I could have some discoloration for a week. My lip oozed and bled. I have been covering it in Aqu... read more

The people at the California skin institute do not value your time. I sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes before being walked into another room where I sat for another 15 mins before I got pissed and asked what is going on. Then finally after an hour the doctor came in and did the most rushed cancer screening ever. I had specifically asked for some detailed care. When I call on the phone to get information I get can I place you on a small hold that lasts 30 minutes. I give up.

Staff is very hard to deal with. I had an appointment with Roger Friedenthal after which front desk was supposed to contact my insurance for authorization to perform the procedure and call me when that's done. They never called, and after I called front desk during one call they told me that they contacted insurance and are waiting for response, then during the same call they told me that insurance rejected the authorization and they will submit new request, after I challenged it, they told me that they didn't contact insura... read more

Reckless. Please do not go there. I was seen by Dr. Lowenstein and he barely spent any time examining for my annual. I asked him about a mole on the back of my calf and he said it was "nothing." I knew something wasn't right and asked to be seen by someone else two weeks later and it turned out it was melanoma. Please advocate for yourself. This is absolutely reckless care and it's a chain. I would never go back!

I recently had a cyst removed from my face. I knew Medicare would not cover the cost as it is considered cosmetic. The PA advised that she was having difficulty removing it as the shell had broken. I returned to have the stitches removed. Two weeks later I realized that what I was feeling was another stitch that had negligently not been removed. I now still have a bump that is slightly painful to the touch. I do not want to return there. On top of that, I received a bill for pathology that I was not advised was not included ... read more

I had two visits/appointments scheduled with Dr. Emma Taylor. The first visit was with a physician's assistant, which I was not made aware of prior to the appointment. When I made the second appointment, I explicitly specified I preferred a physician, not an assistant to see me as with the prior appointment. On the second visit, I was seen by a physician's assistant once again. During this visit, she did not ask me or reference a condition I had mentioned and was prescribed medication for during the previous visit [i.e. it... read more
