They don't return calls. They recommend medications not covered by your insurance. They don't give you the time to give you all the information you need. I went some place else and my skin issues cleared up in a month. FYI, I saw Nikki
Appointment was fine. Follow up was horrible. Was told I needed a small biopsy procedure. My insurance required prior authorization. After calling 4 times over a month period I never heard back about the office submitting and getting approval for my prior authorization. Very disappointed.
Seems as though deceiving their patients is rather common practice for them. I wanted a mole removed. I was quoted $350 for one or $325 for 2, plus the cost of pathology $150 each. I decided on one mole and they confirmed it would be $500. At check out, AFTER the procedure was done I was told it is $800 including pathology. 8 HUNDRED!!!! All the receptionist said was "sorry, she gave you the wrong information and she's not here today...." the reception staff are rude and constantly interrupted me. Such a disappointment.
This is for California Skin Institute San Mateo billing dept. I had my consultation at California Skin Institute , Dec. 29 and unfortunately, the front office clerk, Alexis , accidentally charged my fee doubled but she told me that she voided right away and the billing dept. will take care of it. I called the billing dept. after few days (Jan 11, to be exact ) coz the bill was still reflecting in my card. I have to wait for several minutes before i got hold to a person named Bernadette. She told me that she just cancelled my... read more
Really poor experience with this organization. Even if the medical care here was stupendous it would be challenging to accept the service issues. For nearly all of my 6 appointments, I waited 20 - 40 minutes. The actual time spent with the doctor was typically less than 15 minutes. During most of these visits, I felt like the doctor was rushing to get me out as quickly as possible. I discussed a billing issue with one of the front desk staff. I was told that I would hear back in about 2 weeks. I waited an extra week before I... read more
Had an appointment scheduled with Nikki Melet. Arrived five minutes early for my appointment. Ended up waiting a total of one hour and ten minutes before I finally had to leave. About five other clients who arrived after me were all seen within fifteen minutes of arriving. Dumbfounded staff could only offer "sorry, you should be next" when asked if there was an eta. Egregious unprofessional and incompetent behavior.
Preface: If you're considering scheduling an appointment at this practice, I would highly recommend an alternative dermatologist, such as Berman Skin Institute, which I ultimately found to be fantastic. After moving to the city from LA I sought out continued treatment for my acne. Decided to give this practice a chance on a whim and wish I had looked further into their reviews and previous customer experiences. After an incredibly brief (and, to be frank, painful) appointment I went to the front desk and paid my co-pay befor... read more
I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but I feel strongly that this is not a professional doctor's office and that their patients' wellness is not a priority. After seeing their Better Business Bureau rating is an F, I understand why and wish I had looked into it before visiting them. They sold me a product onsite at 2x the cost listed online and lied to me multiple times when I inquired about the discrepancy. I decided to return the product same day after noticing the discrepancy but they said they were unable to ... read more
I am disgusted by their practices. I came in because I had concerns about potential skin cancer on my face. Their card reader "was broken" and they refused to take my card for their file. I gave them my insurance, which they accepted. Apparently, months later, my insurance declined to cover the bill. By their own admission, they sent my new bill of $350 ***to an incorrect address for months and months***. THEY ADMIT THIS. They admit that they received months of return mail because they didn't add my apartment number. They st... read more
