I rated most areas a 3 because my overall experience has been average, with both positives and areas for improvement. At times, the resident room does not appear as clean as expected. Communication between administrative staff and those providing day-to-day care seems to be an area that could be strengthened, as information does not always feel fully aligned. They were great and very responsive while I was deciding on location. Once I signed they became a little less organized. From what I've seen, I don't think there are a lot of activities for the memory care residents... lots of putting them in front of the community TV.

Memory Care is an excellent option for those needing daily supervision. Unfortunately, for dementia patients, staff must be highly specialized professionals. Additionally, the oversight in the Memory Care unit would greatly benefit from the infusion of technology to improve accountability and supervision.

As with any place, there are great team members and some mediocre. We have been fortunate to experience decent care. There have been many staff changes throughout the year. The current leadership team has only been in place a short time, so I'm anticipating improved services and more stability with staff. Team members are very friendly. The Assisted Living section is very lively. I would like to see a similar activity level in memory care. With a little more structure and additional staff this will be possible. That issue for placement was last May. You guys were a lifesaver for me. I filed for a court appointed guardian and conservator which was granted. She ran out of funds for Charter and just recently she moved where Medicare has taken over.

The facility is clean, modern and has the amenities needed to provide quality care for the residents. The staff are very friendly, they care about the residents and the family and are very responsive to feedback. There is a high turn-over of the staff and management. I think the corrective action should be in training and less firing.

My experience at Charter is mixed bag. Starters the location is perfect and common areas are cleaned, but the rooms were not getting cleaned once a week as promised, they still are not. The facility had a great group of people talking care of mom and that was important. However they have issues keeping caregivers and med techs so people are often over worked or not there and then my mom's care suffers. My in laws live at Charter Vikings. It is a great experience for them and us! We highly recommend anyone to check it out!

My aunt has been bed bound since February. The first facility she went to after leaving the hospital didn't really encourage her to get out of her room, they just left her in her room. With Charter, my aunt was in the dining room within the first week. She enjoys playing bingo and being able to me more social.
