I made the mistake of doing a walk In for a tour. There is no one at the desk. I waited for about 15 minutes before I walked in to find someone. Staff told me to come back because they don’t do that. Staff also told me I am not supposed to just walk right in. I tried to explain that I had been standing there and no one came out but she did not want to speak with me regarding this. I never in my life experienced anything like that. They are extremely rude . I will not be returning as I was told to do. The facilities overall a... read more

I would not recommend this community to others. The management in the community does not know what's going on and they did not follow through with things that we asked them to do. They over-ordered medication after I told them not to and lied to me about it. Their billing is incorrect and they tried to charge us for rent when he was not there.

Chesapeake Place is not staffed or managed to take care of it's residents. Our beloved family members and most vulnerable. If you care for your loved ones, do not consider this facility.

The staff came to our house to meet the family and my mother in law who was going to be moving in soon. They came to assess her and understand what exact needs and care services she would have to get. Once we moved her into the facility about two weeks later they told us she needed a whole different type of care then what they originally told us. We told the staff she needed help dressing herself and eating since she wasn't able to do it herself, they reassured us that would be no problem. However we found out she was being ... read more

We removed my mom due to lack of care, medicine mismanagement, after pointing out lack of care the staff would not even say hello. They ordered new medicine from their pharmacy without looking and seeing we had plenty and lost meds we provided.. Her room was 82 degrees with no air movement and caused stagnet bad smelling air. After pointing out the problem several times a portable unit was installed in her room and nextdoor only to be removed after less than a week, problem was not corrected. Evening staff was unable to keep... read more

DO NOT PUT your loved one in this facility. The care provided in the main building isn't to bad but the MEMORY CARE unit care for the elderly is terrible. I understand they are severely understaffed and on some shifts don't provide the necessary/required care you're paying for. As your loved one's health declines the staffing is not adequate to properly care for them. My family member continuously had bruises and arm scrapes existing from someone not paying attention to the condition of the resident.

The Executive Director and nursing director do NOT return calls. Took 2 weeks for the staff Dr. to call in prescription to pharmacy.

The staff here I would have to say are not very attentive to the residents and there needs. My loved one has fallen twice since entering into this community. That is due to lack of staff. When I tried to get a hold of the nurses about the falls I found out that neither fall was ever documented and that they did not have much to say. I did try and talk to the director [Removed] and he never got back to me. I am nervous due to him always calling me before my loved one got into the place.

My mom has only been there a few months but so far so good. Chesapeake Place is able to order your families meds if you choose to go that route. It will cost a little more because if the way it is packaged. Or they will call you so you can get the meds to them. Convenient. They also take care of laundry. Mom/dad put laundry outside door and it is washed/dried and returned to your room. Wonderful!
