Dixie is our golden child, she runs our house, and does whatever whenever she wants. Our sweet girl had an accident two weeks ago. We rushed her to APVES where they checked her out. She came out with only a pretty bad broken leg. The emergency vet bandaged her up until we could get her in for a consult with a surgical vet closer to where we live. I took her for a consultation where the vet said he couldn’t do the surgery because she would need an external fixture and she was not a good candidate for amputation. Dixie was the... read more
We came here years ago for my St.Bernard, Rufus. They were fantastic. So when my toy poodle, Steve, needed surgery we came back. They treated Steve like their own and he is recovering perfectly. I couldn’t recommend these guys enough. 5 stars all around
We have had multiple times where we needed specialists like you find here. The staff is incredibly nice and the surgeons are excellent. We highly recommend CVSS.
Friendly vet techs who are knowledge about surgical procedures, medications, and canine health. Every time I called there was a calm & positive voice in the other end guiding me through the entire process from admission to discharge. The update phone calls to advise on how my dog was doing throughout the day and how the surgery went was so reassuring. Dr. Moore was very well versed about my dogs knee surgery and offered advise and guidance. Bravo to all involved.
DR. MIDDLESTEAD IS THE BEST SURGEON AND PERSON I HAVE EVER MET! She took amazing care of my pup as well as my nerves! Hands down the best surgeon ever! And the veterinary hospital itself is amazing and every single person who works there is as well, best staff in the world! 1000/10 would definitely recommend and I am the most difficult person ever when it comes to my babies!
Special thanks to Dr. Prestredny and the team at CVSS who took care of our pup while he had his TPLO surgery. The communication and follow-up was thorough and timely. Our Hobbs is doing a good job resting, allowing his range of motion exercises and cold compresses and is still wanting all the cuddles 💕
CVSS Columbia is wonderful. The operated on my little Yorkie for Patella Luxation on both her back legs. Dr. Keets is fantastic, Helen is also great. They are caring and professional I would not take my Cholita anywhere else for surgery. She is on schedule for surgery for a ACL tear at this time! CVSS Columbia are the best!🥰
We took our almost 10 month old dog to Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists. He was very sick and we worked with Dr. Natalie McLewee. We unfortunately lost our pup after finding out he had cancer. We highly recommend the Internal Medicine team and Dr. McLewee. She was there to explain everything to us and answer our questions. She was sweet and was very concerned for our pup. The staff was also very nice and great to work with. Although the outcome wasn’t what we expected and wanted, we thank you for all your work Dr. ... read more
My 11 year old female miniature poodle, Shaunti, was born with an undulating patella (knee cap is not as tight as it should be). I was advised to not do surgery until the problem got worse. Well, it go worse suddenly. She started walking on three legs often, holding the problem leg off the floor. I took her to our regular vet who examined her and told me that the knee cap was now permanently ‘out.’ The only correction was surgery. She recommended CVSS. I made an appointment. On Wednesday, October 20th, she was opera... read more
