Mishandled cancer biopsy led to my dog's death.

Business response:

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We'd like to acknowledge that we are sorry for the loss of your dog. Cytology from a fine needle aspirate performed by your primary care veterinarian and read by a board-certified pathologist indicated that no neoplastic cells were present in your pet's sample, which meant that at the time of the aspirate, the mass was not presenting as a mast cell tumor. The surgeon even noted intra-operatively that the mass had the visual appearance of a sarcoma. Only after the biopsies were submitted a... read more

We lost our precious 3 year old dog in a week because of this place. We are heartbroken. My dog was put through unnecessary pain and suffering. We would not recommend Towson location for biopsies. Instead of ensuring first that the lump on her leg was not a Mast Cell Tumor, assumption was made that it was not one, based on an inconclusive cytology report. As soon as the surgical biopsy was performed- my baby was as good as dead. The cancer spread fast through her leg, and she started to decline. Despite this, and the re... read more

If I'm paying you thousands of dollars to care for my pet, the very least you can do is answer the phone instead of returning calls that usually result in hours and days of phone tag. When I have questions about my animal's care, I need an answer asap. Not whenever you get around to it. This is the same reason I don't go to AVIM&O anymore either. Too busy to answer the phones? Hire more staff. Lord knows you all rake in enough money.

I have no comment on the quality of their work, but on the quality of their staff. My experience with CVSS has not been great. They are a truly corrupt business, with the owners giving high management positions to their family and friends with few qualifications. Prices are outrageous, and staff are rude and disrespectful. The techs act like a clique, and have even recorded videos mocking other staff and patients. Overall, this business is out of control and on a downward spiral. I have never seen staff so poorly managed th... read more

Awful. I’ll be writing more of my review later but after spending $6,300 on a totally hip transplant for my dog Sadie the doctors at CVSS (Prostredny and Rowa) were absolutely rude. My dogs hip replacement came out the morning after her surgery and as a result they had to do another surgery to repair it (it was too short -6mm too short) I discussed it was difficult to make time to pick her up because we live 90min away and as a result we had to make tons of changes on our end to accommodate CVSS surgical mistake. I’m praying... read more

I had the worst experience With the orthopedic doctor. My dog had a limp. I just had x rays done 5 days prior. The doctor was pressuring me to do some. Then came back and said she might suspect cancer and I needed to have all these expensive tests done . She was not personable and once I said I wasn’t going to have her expensive tests done she dropped me like a hot potato. I spent $200 for nothing but a in compassionate doctor that was only focused on the money and then disappeared. Worst experience ever.

Hire some people to answer the phone. No one wants to hold for over 30 minutes.
