The service is really lacking here. The chef can't do it all. The staff is simply not present. I had to lliteraly stare down the bartender to get his attention and there were TWO people behind the bar and four customers - one - me - waiting be served. I checked in when I got there, the hostess had no idea I was witing at the bar - totally not present. The food was good - for sure - the drinks ok - but I"m not sure I'd go back - even for that fabulous dessert!
We enjoyed Mom's birthday brunch. The food was good and Johnny, our server, was very solicitous.
We went here to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We had a very good time. The drinks were well made. The food was wonderful. We had the Sesame Calamari for our appetizer. I had the Crab Cakes for my entrée. The ambiance was pleasant. The only problem we had was that the service was kind of slow. The staff was friendly and helpful but their responses to requests were sluggish.
A bit expensive but enjoyed the food.
Love the atmosphere but the dinner food was not good. My cornmeal shrimp app had no cornmeal, salt nor flavor. The bacon, cheese grits were excellent. Went there for brunch hoping it would be better, my grits were old, dry and clumpy and my salmon sandwich was okay. Would go back for drinks because I like the ambiance.
The service was great. The server was attentive. The ambience was beautiful. Wasn't too thrill with the pasta dish though but it was more a personal preference. The mashed potatoes were delicious.
Nice little spot in the ever-growing Harlem scene. Food is good, but desserts are better.
Chocolat is great for brunch. Their brunch food is very good and you can get bottomless mimosas for $10. In addition, there is a DJ that plays music during brunch which makes it even better. I wouldn't recommend it for any other meals, but brunch is a definite.
I love this place! Always a great venue to catch up with old friends over an exceptional meal. The drink menu is innovative and delectable. The service is pleasant but can occasionally become unattentive if the restaurant gets a bit busy but for New York standards it's good service :) The neighborhood is "up and coming" making this is an absolute diamond in the rough!
