I have been recommending this location to others. My mother has been here a little over a month now. She had a tough time in the beginning trying to adjust, but it’s something that we’re working toward getting better. She was having issues at the dining facility. They had a meeting with all the independent residents and the dietitian; many people suggested making the same changes. We like the care from this community. The staff is caring. The community is clean and maintained. The menu is appealing. They offer her to participate in the activities that are offered. We would recommend this community for the good care and good value that is received by other families
When we first arrived, I expected someone designated to welcome us. Instead staff seemed to be surprised by our arrival and didn't quite know what to do with us. The room likewise was unprepared. Minimal cleanliness, no toilet paper in the restroom. The facility I had first chosen declined her. They said she needed a higher level of care than they could provide. Devonshire offered to assess her. They accepted her.

Everyone was very nice and professional. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get the help I need. I am not able to keep mom much longer about to lose job and everything i own because of her situation.
There was roaches on the wall and our mother will not live here no matter if my brother pays!!We are moving her out of Hampton and let down by the sales man who lied. Our mother left in tears and the toilet was broke for us to use hallway smelled like pee nasty
Worst experience ever. Moved in on [date removed] and left on [date removed]. Medications not given in a timely manner...never; housekeeping not done at all first month and only 4 times the next month, level 2 care $[removed] additional and they gave her 3 showers in a month and was supposed to be 2x a week; she broke her collarbone and really needed help and it took 2 hours to answer the help button to go to bathroom or any assistance at all; nurses were always rude about her meds and made snide remarks; they did not bring ... read more
This has been a complete fiasco from start to finish. If I could give them negative stars I would. The people that work there are good people, management has been nothing short of atrocious to deal with. I have so many things I want to write but I will refrain. Do yourself a favor, unless you live VERY close by and are able to visit on a consistent basis do not put a loved one here.
Don't expect once you are moved in for them to listen to concerns. I have found there is no sense of urgency from the staff unless it negatively impacts them. We are still waiting for a toilet paper holder to be fixed for example.
I would tell my friends that it was good for my loved one when he lived there. When I had concerns I couldn't get a hold of the administrators to voice my these concerns. It took almost a week to get a hold of her. The reason for my concern was that the staff was supposed to be making his bed, and it wasn't being done. The room my loved one had, it was a two bedroom with a kitchenette. The room wasn't very handicapped accessible.
