In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. RecommendedWe’ve dined here several times, all have been excellent experiences. We’ve had Brenda as our server on two occasions & she has been amazing! Brenda has provided excellent customer service, has a sense of humor, very personable & attentive.

I’ve avoided it like the plague up to this point because I find everything about it aesthetically displeasing—the bland colors, the garish wooden lawn animals, the inexplicably unappetizing font on the signage—but enough people had waxed rhapsodic about the quality of the food to me that I finally relented. Jazzmine was the greatest waitress with excellent customer service. The menu had lots of choices and it was a nice experience!
Food is fantastic here!! Nice comfortable environment and excellent staff. Especially our beautiful waitress Brenda! She was such a delight! She was friendly and on top on it! She gave us fantastic service! We are definitely coming again!! If you come, remember to ask for Brenda to be your waitress!!!

My first time at Black Bear and the food was very tasty. Got to love those cornbread muffins.
Best restaurant in Oregon bar none... Best food I ever had extremely healthy portions with more than responsible prices. Love it so much!! 10 stars...
