In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. RecommendedReally good food...service is not the best, most times. But there is usually a gigantic long wait for a reason. If you have that kind of time on a particular day, the food is worth it.

Always stop in to eat at the Black Bear Diner whenever I’m in town visiting family. Food is awesome and you never leave hungry. Great atmosphere and service.
