In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Awesome food with an exception. I had their cinnamon roll french toast in the Phoenix and it was amazing. I had it again in SLC and the glaze had an over powering vanilla flavor. it was so excessive that you could taste the alcohol in it. I was hoping it was one dinner that had this but apparently it is the company recipe because Katy, TX had the same issue. I just couldnt get passed that bitter strong vanilla flavoring.
The food is great and Isabell gave us awesome service.

We had our third visit to the "BEAR" for breakfast today, on MOTHER'S DAY and as packed as it was the food came out in a timely manner. Not only that, it was perfect, hot, delicious and our server Isabel was so friendly and sweet. Each visit here has been great and we will absolutely return!
