All the staff seem to understand dementia and are very caring and patient with everyone.

I know they have activities, but I don’t know a lot about them.. They have a great overall level of care and the staff is very friendly. It’s a clean and healthy environment. We’re satisfied with the overall value as well.

My family and I have been through one of the worst experiences of our lives due to my mother's death and my father's subsequent diagnosis of dementia. There are many people and places out in the world who are only in the memory care industry for a payday. I do not know how they sleep at night. At Pacifica we found a place that is well staffed, knowledgeable, capable and willing to do what they can to help my father. They appear to understand the fragile and delicate world of dementia. We found Pacifica to be the best value for the level of care that we thought our father deserved. We have found that he looks so much better after spending only 2 week there. Walking more than he had at his last assister place. The Care Givers are far more attentive at this place and seem to really care for his well being. Not everything is perfect there but it is the best place that the family visited. We had 5 family members visiting and we did look at a few more than we were given by a Place For Mom.

The Director is very informative about Alzheimers. Have alzheimers doctor on staff. Tell her that Dr. has told her not able to live independent any longer. His idea not ours. Need to work with staff for best transition. Well trained staff engages and works through this stage.

The staff was very difficult to work with hard time with communication, checking on loved one , getting outside medical care access , getting her services like nails and hair was impossible. [name removed], the manager of the place is a terrible person. She made every interaction unpleasant. She is the reason we moved my loved one. Get rid of [name removed]. Terrible communication from executive director, minimal interaction with residents from caregivers, since visiting hours are limited and do not include dining hours it's hard to make sure residents are eating, staff does not monitor/encourage water consumption, activities in each cottage is scarce.

As you may appreciate, there are many constraints on an executive director's time, and much of that is spent with current residents and families. Once a family makes the decision to move in a loved one, the POA is fully briefed on visiting hours and how to set up additional appointments outside of those hours. We have never been given a menu, for the food. They need to have an administration, with integrity and that does not lie. There needs to be answered questions when your loved ones have questions. The residents are left in clothing for weeks and they smell. They are not being helped, they don't take care of grooming habits, and their teeth are not brushed. Our culinary team takes diet needs and nutritional intake for dementia-diagnosed residents as well as resident preferences into consideration when planning menus.
