I'm thrilled with it. It's fantastic. They've just gone above and beyond to make my brother feel welcome. He's kind of in his own category. He's not so senile to be a typical patient there but he needs enough help to have to be in this situation and he's only 60. They've really gone out of their way to find him things to do that make him feel useful and create an atmosphere where he feels a part of it. It's always clean, it always smells good. I visited their facility and their facility was very nice. The people seemed very nice. The rooms and everything were very secure. Everything looked very clean. The only thing I didn't like about the facility is that the building where the residents live is co-ed. Also some of the male residents weren't what I would call elderly. They were in their 40s. I know that dementia and Alzheimer's can affect any age group but I just knew that my dad wouldn't be comfortable with my mom in there. So that was the deterrent and the othe... read more

'I liked the idea of having smaller ''cottages'' that have 10-14 residents. The places looked like a very comfortable home. The staff that I met were great. We went into 2 cottages and one staff member knew everyone's name.'

In the cottage where the residence were active everything was good. When they moved my mother to a less active cottage residents stayed indoors all day. The only activities offered to my knowledge were TV and occasionally "volleyball" with a balloon. Residence were kept in Geri chairs with trays on. This did change because I believe a hospice worker complained. The monthly dinner celebrations with families and music are a plus especially since many residents are not up to going with relatives to celebrate holidays. I spent t... read more

They are all very friendly. When you come to see the place, [name removed] is extremely helpful. Unfortunately the communication to family is lacking. Very difficult to get information on health from the in house Dr. and or staff.

They would not re-evaluate medical care level after requesting it three times during the eighteen months there. Charged extra $2000. A month when all they had to do was feed and give daily medication. Showering, dressing, eating required no assistance.

Resident care is directed by the family physician and their diagnosis, and we are not able to alter these even if family’s wishes differ. Our staff is fully trained to explain the “how” and “why” of the levels of care so that our service is not minimized nor exaggerated, but understood.
I really like this facility, the residents get to walk outside and it feels like a home. We gave the activities a 3 for where my mom is. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families who may need a place for their loved ones.
