Beware of shady business practices. Couch Potato was highly recommended to me by my realtor. I went there and asked for the cheapest carpet they had. I was shown 2 samples and picked one. I had them come and measure and was given a written estimate. I went to Couch Potato with checkbook in hand to finalize the job. When I got there I was told there was a mistake on the estimate and it would be an additional 700$. They would not honor the original estimate. IMPORTANT! I wish I had better things to say because for the most part, everything was done well. I am happy with my flooring but I am not pleased with the outcome of the botched trim work the contractors and some of the work Couch Potato tried to repair. I recommend asking for references of the contractors they send out. I also recommend you get everything discussed with anyone from this company in writing. (BEWARE) We were informed by our property manager that the same color carpet and vinyl would be installed. First, Couch Potato installed the wrong color carpet on the 2 sets of stairs and replaced the second floor vinyl with a different color. In the process of installing the vinyl, they covered our unit in layers of dust, left tools outside our roof, put holes in walls, damaged the cabinet bottoms, and broke a patio blind! I went in to look at commercial vinyl options for my new office. There were two employees and one customers, none of which were wearing masks nor distancing. Aside from the fact that they clearly don’t care about the wellbeing of others, their prices are very expensive. The same tile I purchased at Home Depot was $3 extra (without installation).
After reading all of the reviews, I was excited to start my project and support a local business at the same time. However, this experience did not live up to my expectations in the least. I was replacing carpet in a downstairs hallway, and most of the upstairs (two bedrooms and the top of the steps connecting two rooms).
