My mom went there and described the following experience: The staff was very rude and treated me like shit. Bill was a pervert and talked about sexual relations inappropriately. I was woke ever morning with yelling. I would ask for something and it was always hang on. We couldn't even have a pencil. There was no handsoap in the bathrooms and no privacy to go to the bathroom. The website showed activities and going outside. We didn't do none of that. I felt like a prisoner. I felt like we were a burden to them. Every day th... read more
I was put in involuntarily. The weekday nurses and techs are good and very professional. They actually get things done. I ask for something their right on it. Make it to our meal times on time and everything. Amd their way more patient. Now the WEEKEND staff sucks. The nurses always have attitudes. They walk around the facility cursing. You can't ask Diane nothing without her getting an attitude. When i do ask them for something, im told to wait, then when i ask again, they had already forgotten. Its not ok to have attitudes... read more
It's like the staff's first day on the job. Every explanation was different. No one really knew the rules and regulations of the system. Horrible place by any standard! Staff "bedside manner" left a lot to be desired of, to say the least! Don't let your loved one have to experience this place! If I could use imaginary numbers here instead of stars, I would.
If I could give it 0 stars, I would. I was treated like an animal here point blank period. The techs are incredibly rude and one even went on to roll her eyes at me after I asked for a tampon. Lord forgive me for being a teenage girl on her period. So unprofessional. Please do not send anyone you love here. The people writing good reviews are blaming the bad reviews on "angry" patients, but of course I'm going to be angry when I was treated like a wild animal and with complete disrespect. Also I came out of this place more d... read more
Please do not send your child to this facility. I have never provided a yelp review, but created an account for this express purpose. Our son (17 years old) was admitted to Cross Creek Hospital for severe depression on a Saturday. On Sunday, as we attempted to visit our son during visiting hours, the facility failed to open the doors for visitation until approximately 45 minutes after the scheduled start time. When asked for an explanation, the staff reported that they were understaffed and therefore unable to open the doo... read more
I wish I could give them zero stars. My daughter was being transferred there from another hospital. They called me in in advance of her arrival to do paperwork. As standard with psyc hospitals, when we got there we had to lock up our belongings, including phones, and were told to wait. After nearly TWO hours with ZERO contact from any staff member, I got upset. We could not get out- all doors and exits were locked. We could not call anyone- there was no intercom or phone to call elsewhere in the building. We could not get to... read more
Like most other reviewers, I would not recommend Cross Creek Hospital in Austin. We did not get to select the facility when a family member was hospitalized by APD, which compounded an already VERY distressing situation! Family member was not provided a Release form; therefore, staff was unable to talk with family because of HIPAA laws. I personally had to ask family member to sign form. Visiting hours are not posted nor were various staff members able to provide the information when asked. After the Release form was signed... read more
I have been trying to reach my friend who is a patient at Cross Creek and I have not been able to reach them. I have made about 25 calls in the past 2 days. I have only been transferred to different workers and sometimes, the wrong patients. Nurses and unit receptionists have not answered or returned my calls. Unit A receptionist answered my phone call and then immediately hung up without a word. This is so incredibly irritating and sad. I've only had the tiniest taste of what Cross Creek is like and I absolutely hate it.
Patients and potential employees, stay away! Find a facility that has video cameras for your safety. No accountability here. I am a previous employee. A female nurse was SEXUALLY ASSAULTED in July 2018 in the adult PICU unit and the incident was brushed under the rug. Staff were not where they were supposed to be nor were they making rounds. The nurse was physically and sexually assaulted and then blamed for going on the picu unit alone. As far as I know, the incident was not properly reported and the nurse not cared fo... read more
