TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

First time at Dave's. I wondered if the food would be as good as the marketing & pics. Well, I wasn't disappointed. Staff helpful and friendly. Food hot and fantastic. We came over the lunchtime on Monday so it was a steady flow of customer traffic. Food came in about 5 min. We split a slider/tenders with Medium heat sauce. Highly recommend. I'll be back for sure.
Stopped in for the 1st time the other day to try this place out. We have been hearing the buzz about their chicken. AND we love HOT CHICKEN! We arrived at a goofy time (3:45 pm ish) between lunch and dinner. The place was not very busy when we arrived and that changed rather quickly. Very yummy! I haven't had Dave's Chicken prior to it coming to Madison, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Highly recommend the mild if you don't like a lot of spice but love flavor. Also their signature sauce is amazing!
Service is better than anything I've had in Madison. The food is also pretty amazing. The hot is actually hot, not overwhelmingly hot but hot. And I like spicy food. I don't know that I have a single bad thing to say about this place except that it's so good I went two days in a row. Don't be discouraged by the lines they move fast and they're putting in a drive through within the next month. (1-20-23)
Went to Dave's hot chicken, it's in the former Hardee's building and next to Hooters and the now closed KFC. Got the # 2 slider order to go, 1 medium and 1 hot. I think the spice level runs true, they had a nice slaw on them. Service was fast and friendly, smooth operation!
Happened to arrive on opening day! It was very busy had a lot of extra staff, but I'm sure that will calm down as time goes by. I had the chicken finger / slider combo. It was great! I like hot chicken and this does not disappoint! It not like a Nashville hot but more of a dry rub hot. Great flavor nice and moist chicken.
