TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

I come here every time I visit my grandparents. Dave's has become quite the "go-to" for us all. I genuinely love the food and the people I've met working there. I live out of state and can only come every so often, and I always look forward to pulling up, placing my order, and enjoying some delish food with my family. First of all, this is the second time I've had Dave's Hot Chicken and it was just as amazing as it was the first time. The place could have been a mess and service awful and I would still give it 5 stars for the food alone. But tonight topped it all because not alone is the inside clean and inviting, they had great music playing (extra brownie points for that), but the service was top notch. We were served by Chas who gave my husband and I the best service. Don't walk, but RUN to this location and consider yourself lucky if ... read more
