David Beck's office called me immediately as soon as I put the job up. They gave me a quote immediately based on my conversation on the phone. I provided them all the necessary details and then they sent me their engagement letter with fees. I was about to sign it and then they told me to send the last years return for them to review. I'm very surprised at the choice to publicize this. Tanmoy presented a completely false picture of his tax situation on our intiial call. He first offered to send his prior year tax returns for review, but upon hearing our initial quote of $595, he backed off, presumably to avoid showing the complexity. Furthermore, he was pushing for another one hundred dollar discount based on a different misunderstanding. Did not do a good job. He filed my taxes wrong. It showed I made 13k but and over 90k in expenses. I made over 200k. Now I got to fix this. Luck I was Buying a house when it was discovered

David did my taxes for two years - he has a great system/website making it super easy to upload info, but both years there was a mistake causing an underpayment letter from IRS. For this year he didn't file until I prompted him and when I asked for help with the IRS letter he didn't respond to my messages and I had to hire another firm to help. I'm really sad it didn't work out and maybe he was just too swamped to help.
My experience with David Beck was terrible. I received a quote and then he told me that the quote didn’t include all of the items that I had provided during the original consultation. Then, I had to check his numbers because the forms provided weren’t entered right. I sent him a bunch of questions about the draft return and his responses were always delayed and incomplete. All the submitted returns were one hundred percent correct based on the information Martin provided. However, after discovering that he failed to provide certain information, Martin harassed the firm daily with questions over minutia, demanding that an amendment of his tax returns be included in his original price paid for tax preparation. David did a great job with my 2019 taxes. In working on my 2021 taxes, we agreed that we would discuss and decide on 2 items before completing the taxes. David ran my taxes and took the remaining money that I would owe before doing this. I requested that in the future he complete the taxes before taking my money. From that point on, he became unresponsive to my calls and e-mails. My office manager finally got through and he scheduled an appointment but he no-showed and did not return my call. Hey Tricia - thanks for your feedback. I charge clients all in exactly the same way, and all emails and engagement letters indicate this. It was exactly the same in 2019 when you were a fan of my work. Once you have a draft of your return on the portal, the remaining fee is charged since you now have the actual product you paid for. After you responded to this in an extremely aggressive and disrespectful manner, our business together was over. I don’t work with clients who do not respect my work or the firm. Best of luck.

A number of months ago, I thought I had an agreement with this firm. After I paid a retainer, they left me in the dark for those same months. Then yesterday, they sent me a request for tax documentation. The deadline is few days away. Fortunately, I had already filed my return... DO NOT TRUST THEM!

Never thought it necessary to try and find out what might be going on, or perhaps someone missed that you had signed up? Worst experience I have ever had in 25 years. Shortcut artist who misses obvious things and then becomes defensive and argumentative. Brags about his hundreds of clients which may be the problem. Pay close attention. And his advise is sketchy. I see he has now responded rudely again with of course his twisted version. It's not worth getting into all of his errors.
