After experiencing sever months of a locked jaw in 2008, I was referred to the Rondeau Clinic by my dentist. I had no idea that my problem was a symptom of TMJ disorder, nor that my other symptoms, namely loss of hearing, bruxism (clenching and grinding) and neck pain were all related to the same cause. I first met Dr. Rondeau in late 2008. Two dentists were unable to treat my jaw pain and could only suggest risky surgery or addictive pain killers as treatment. Dr. Rondeau said I could avoid surgery and expect an 85-90% success rate with his treatment, and immediately got to work. I will always remember his compassion: he assured me I wouldn't wait until after Christmas, I'd had enough pain already, and squeezed me into their already-crowded schedule. I had been a very healthy woman until the year of 2008. Early that year and in two different occasions, my left jaw locked momentarily. I started having pain in my mouth, back and neck. My wife and I have both made several trips to Dr Rondeau's office during the past few years. My wife's jaw problems were virtually solved after 3 or 4 appointments. My particular issues are apnea and snoring. Making the decision to try the orthotic approach to treating my TMJ problem opposed to surgery was likely the best decision I could of ever made, I had gone to Dr. Rondeau for a 2nd opinion. And so glad I did. His staff (all) were all very helpful in educating me. Explaining the benefits of a non-surgical approach to treating the TMJ.
