I found the cheapest room for 1 night in Columbia. I got what I paid for. I cannot complain too much. The room was clean although the carpet was worn. The front desk was very slow and then gave my room to another person about an hour later. If I had not been there, I suspect my laptop and other personal items may have disappeared. The hotel is right next to the freeway, so you could hear the trucks going by. It wasn't too bad, but it was noticeable at times. Room was clean, updated, and functional. Had to meander past a large number of smoking pan-handlers to get into the lobby.

Knew the area I was in before I arrived so wasn’t “put off” by the outside late night activity. Front desk was extremely helpful, and exchanged my room for me due to a loud AC unit. I got a good nights sleep and continued on my drive across the country.
