When I checked in there was no one at the front desk. I waited for nearly 20 minutes, when finally a housekeeper got the attention of the front desk attendant. When I checked into my room I was expecting a queen sized bed, but only had a full. The blankets were old, and the room had an odor. The carpet looked dated and the room may have been clean but everything in it was so old it did not feel clean. The tv in the room was very small, maybe a 19 inch, and none of the lamps worked. August 21, 2010 We got a room that we thought was close to Milwaukee without paying a ton to be downtown and that was a mistake. The cab ride back and forth and the rate of this room was actually more than if we just would have stayed downtown. The room wasn't anything special and could have used a nice run with the vacuum cleaner. The front desk literally smelled like [*] to the point where I asked my sister if she farted. We woke up early to check out and find a diffrent room.

Malodorous The initial appearance upon entering is marginal and it gets worse from there. Our room smelled bad but seemed reasonably clean. We opened the window while we attended to visiting family in the city. Upon returning late we were too tired to exchange rooms so left the window open all night and tolerated the noise from the nearby freeway to alleviate the smell. Run Down This is the good: The location was OK, the price was relatively cheap, it was quiet. Had a good wifi signal, although you had to pay $5 to connect. The negatives definately outweighed the postives.. - The phone was dead because their was a problem with the cord or jack that caused the cord to not stay in the jack. - The knob for the cold water in the bathroom was broken making it difficult to turn the water on and off. - The refrigerator temperature was turned down to the point that it froze our beverages overnight ... read more

Loads of Small Problems The shower valve was stuck. Beds were short-sheeted, and spreads mismatched. The hotel provided no Kleenex, decaf coffee, or hair dryer. The thermostat was wildly inaccurate. Even the escape route posted on the door was wrong--it was for another room.
