I rented 10 x 10 unit. When I paid for the first month I was disappointed to find out there were no first month free units available as advertised. I was charged a $24 administrative fee and was required to purchase insurance coverage for $20 a month plus tax. I'm writing this review so others are not surprised about the additional expenses upfront.
One thing you can always count on with Big business, Rate increases and less accommodations for the customer ! Good job Extra Space ! Keep it up, your helping the smaller Mom and Pop storage facilities survive. One by one your clients are leaving for better rates and service
RENTERS BEWARE, SO DISAPPOINTED AND FRUSTRATED WITH THIS PLACE. HAVE BEEN WITH THEM FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AND ALREADY 2 RATE INCREASES, SO RIDICULOUS. They begin hiking your rental rate within 3 months of beginning service with them. The response from customer service is that the way the contract is written, they could raise it every month. After raising the concern the gal in the office stated that "I could just move out." Worst Customer Service Experience and on more than one occasion. If you can, I would find a local storage company. Quote and confirmation of size and price do not match to space assigned and billed! I looked for storage units on line. I got the quote on line for a 10 x 10 @ $98. per month and received a confirmation call from the manager but when I moved in the space was 4 ft smaller than what I agreed to measuring 6 x 10. Staff and service was great until my rates kept going up every 5 to 9 months. As a new customer, you are offered a much lower rate than the "street price." However, to get you to that "street price", you will get your first increase after 5 months (at least 10%), then 9 months later you will get another 15% increase so that you are at the street rate. I rented a storage unit at 930 am April 24th paid over $200 bucks for the 10 by 20 I was on my way to work, upon arriving to work I was informed that I did not need the storage unit, as I was waiting for an approval for a home I was renting, long story short by 1030, I called Extra Space Storage and I informed then that I did not need to rent a unit, and that I'd like my money back, well I was told that they were not going to return my money and that I am stuck with the storage unit, the only reason there is a star in this r... read more
BE WARNED! If you like your stuff and your money, don't rent with Extra Space Temecula. If for any reason your autobill doesn't go through, they will jack you with massive fees and will not accept only the past due amount. You'll have to pay the past due, fees and the current rental - and they're extremely rude about it. Want to use your own insurance?
