Just two months after I moved in, my storage unit was hit by a two thieves that came around midnight (This is at the 23rd street facility in Lancaster CA). Apparently one climbed over the wall, the other waited outside as a look out.No alarm went off and police were not called. I was told they were in there for 3 hours and hit a total of 7 units. Think twice and carefully about storing your RV or Trailer here! Unfortunately, the week right before Christmas 2023, I had got a call from the manager, she was honest and blunt, the news was terrible. A group of thieve's had driven into the Extra Space property, broken into several trailers being stored there in the back of the facility, and emptied out taking what ever they wanted. Had my trailer broken into just before Christmas. Thieves got in by simply following a tenant in.. and the place gives you a way to exit without entering a code or anything. They were in there for like 3 hours in early evening and wiped me out and a couple of others. No security, grainy video footage, and policy which protects the criminals. No thanks. If you have your rig stored there, I'd find a better place.

I rarely give a bad review but I have no choice. I have had a trailer located in this storage facility for about three years. Granted without an issue until this past Monday, February 20th 2023. I drive uptown my space and find the trailer and all within it gone. I go to the front desk and the guy takes a report and then tells me to call the Sheriff, like I didn't plan to do that already. I've had my travel trailer stored there for about 3 years now. Last weekend it was broken into for the second time. First time there was no damage but this time they broke out 2 of the windows. When Extraspace tells you they have top notch security they are stretching the truth. In fact, the weekend my trailer was broken into there were a total of 23 RV's that sustained damage and had items stolen yet the storage yard will not accept any responsibility. Never again will I rent a unit with Extra Storage!!!! 4 years ago I rented a space and surrendered it after I was done they never had me as checking out of the place. I was sent to collections. The collection agency was nasty and very rude. I remember the nightmare very clear. I was told that If I don't pay up I was going to be sent to court and I was responsible for all the charges.
