I have had a storage unit at Extra Space Storage in Fort Wayne for 2 years, I pay $178 a month for a 10X20 unit. Just got a note today that my rate is going up to $278 a month, that’s a $1200 a year increase!! I am beyond pissed! Online I can get the same unit for $130/mo, but that’s only for new customers. We don’t care about our current customers, we want new customers that we can get to sign up and then screw them too!! I was told the rate would be pro-rated. I did most everything online. There were some glitches getting access to my unit. It took 3 days. I cleaned out my unit on Friday, expecting to receive some money back, only to be told I didn't inform them ahead of time. This is horrible customer service. I should have received some of my $240 back when I only used 6 days of the month.
