Very reasonable prices for storage given the area and location. The site is under newer management and the manager, Jesse Rodgers, is extremely helpful and professional. He is willing to spend the time to get things right and worked patiently with me on the application even though the pc was a bit slow that day and I was a bit ornery after work that day. We opted for a nicely sized 10 x 5 in the climate controlled area and so far its working out fine for us. Would have given five stars, but waiting to see if my military... read more

Extra Space Storage worked with me for my needs and I couldn't have asked for a smoother experience. The facility is kept clean and well maintained and the manager, Jesse, was exceptional. I had to change storage units and go to a larger one and they made the switch so easy for me. They have dollies for you to put your things on to take to your unit and were always available to answer any questions. I had never stored stuff outside of my home. It was easy to get to, less expensive than the others and they treated me like a King. After the tour I asked again where the space was. Rather than tell me B2, George took me there again and pointed out where it was by emphasizing the buttons he was pushing on the elevator. We went today to put a few things in storage. Started leasing a unit in March of 24, in July of that same year they doubled my rate due to "market conditions" I looked this up and they upped the rate as soon as they were legally allowed. Then just got a notice one year in that they were doubling my rate again. Not to mention the maintenance of elevators and other common areas at this location is lacking.

Rented a unit in March and moved our things in. Only three months later, we've just received notice they are (literally!) doubling our monthly rate. They have our email and phone info of course, but we got the notification via a postcard. The postcard says their rates are "adjusted depending on current market conditions." There's no way "market conditions" caused them to have to double our rent in the last three months.

This facility is shady and lures customers in with a "teaser" rate that they QUICKLY jack up significantly. I rented my unit for $70/month, and after two months, they increased it to $120/month. The facility also flooded and many tenants lost their belongings. DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY!!

Customer service was great. The facility is a bit dated, but sufficient. I am giving them a two star review because they increased my monthly rate by over 90 percent without warning. I understand market rates change, but increasing the cost of a good over ight by this much iS UNACCEPTABLE! Bottom line if you get in with an economical rate, don't expect it to remain.

I secured a climate control unit in the basement at Extra Space Storage the 4950 Nicholson Ct. Kensington, MD location. The day I contracted the storage unit and guided to the space, I mentioned to Jessie Rogers, the store manager, that I smelled an odor. He didn't comment. On September 10, 2020 I went to the unit to move out. I hired movers to pick up and load my items. When we arrived at the facility, it was down pouring. I usually do not spend my time writing reviews, however I believe in consumer rights and good business practices. One of the four generally accepted basic consumer rights is right to be informed (the others are right to safety, right to choose and right to be heard). What Extra Space did not disclose to me is that the price for a unit I signed on will change.
