Do not rent from Extra storage. They price gouge you. I have only been renting from them since May and they had a price I could afford and it's close by. Now they have hiked up the payment by $80 more a month. This is unacceptable as this is a huge rise in price. I could understand if it was $10-$20 in increase over time. But right off the bat they gouged me. The unit isn't really climate controlled and when I lived in the ceiling was caving in. I NEVER write reviews...NEVER but PLEASE trust this review. The storage unit door was replaced. The company they hired DESTROYED some of my stuff; they literally threw it back in there like trash! DONT RENT FROM EXTRA SPACE. It took the manager 3 1/2 weeks to return my calls. I called repeatedly for a week straight. Then she says there is NOTHING they can do other than offer me $25 off my next month's rent. you just increase my price out of nowhere from 100 to 156.00 56% increase and from 100 to 147.00 47% increase. that increase of 113% on 2 units. that what i call a scam . do used them use someone else. this location is on rittaman and harry wurzbach of san antonio tx.

They will increase prices out of no where. Horrible customer services and reluctant to do any unit repairs; overall will not recommend. Communication is based on Utah which makes the process horrible.

This company is scandalous! DO NOT! ......I repeat DO NOT Store anything with Extra Space Storage. Do yourself a favor and find a company that will be more professional and honest in the way they do business. This was a nice place long before they put that Green sign up. No points scored for their tidiness. I've had this unit for over 2 years and now pay 50% more for the unit than when it was the previous company. I will never do business with this company again! Yes, it's a nice facility; very clean, easy to access, and climate-controlled. However, I've only had a storage unit here for three months and I just got a notice in the mail stating that my "promotional rate" has ended and that my monthly price will be increasing. This is absolutely ridiculous! The storage unit is clean and easy to access. However, your rate is only locked in for a few month and will increase as they so choose. My rate went up $32 because that was the going rate for the unused units. Other companies will just charge you for a year or 6 month contract at the same rate. Extra space is only good for short term storage.
