After 3 months they raised my storage space fee by 60%. With no notice.

If I could leave a zero star I would. I initially rented a unit for $189 per month, on a month to month basis. 2 months later they inflated that price to $288 per month. When I called they said $189 was a promotional rate, which I was never notified of. Now 6 months later I received a card in the mail say they are charging me $368.00 per month. For those who are counting that is almost a 100% price increase over my original rate. I want to leave a zero star but I cant. I am also contacting the BBB to report them about decept... read more

I will never sign up for automatic payments again! I was not notified of a rate increase of nearly double what I was paying. Extra space storage said they sent a card by mail to my previous address but it was never forwarded to my new address. I spoke to them several times and they really don't care about customers at all. I asked why didn't they send a courtesy email or text, they said it was against their policy. I'm career military, have used Extra Space Storage est. 6 times in different locations due to previous perception of excellent service and value. I procured a storage unit for all my hhg at this location to facilitate an out of state relocation. This facility indicates that it has keypad access for interior spaces. It does not. If i could give a 0 I would. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. The double the fee after 60 days. Their policy states a 5 day ***** period but charged $20 late fee when I paid on 17th on a 12th due date. I paid at 4pm on the 27th and couldn't get in my unit at 8pm because they changed the lock. I am getting an attirney.

Unfortunately I had an unpleasant interaction with the manger in the ********, ** location. I explained to ***** and her assistant ******** that my debit card was unfortunately compromised. This triggered my financial institution to cancel my current **** debit card and issue me a new one. I regret the day I signed up with this storage company because I have nothing but issues after issues. The manager **** at the store in *************** is beyond rude. He lacks customer service. I paid over 270 dollars to move my things on a earlier date which he attempted to charge me full price till i advised that it should be pro rated being that I will not be accessing the entire month. HORRIBLE & UNETHICAL We pay for climate controlled area. Their a/cs malfunctioned, they didnt tell anyone and our furniture is molded and mildewed. They have not corrected the issue & will do nothing to fix our furniture. AND we just received notice they are increasing our rates by $83.00 month - increasing the monthly rate to $258!!!!!! Do not do business with them!
