Rented a car from here and said No to the prepaid fuel option. The lady checking us out decided to add it on even though we explained that we didn't want that at all
1.5 stars on Yelp and 2 stars on Google. Watch out! Charged me $150 for supplemental insurance after I clearly and specifically declined. It might've been on the rental agreement - but in their code so you couldn't understand it especially while being rushed to the next customer and explained at the counter as a standard deposit. You'll see this story repeatedly in the reviews - it's not 1 person not understanding, it's obviously intentional trickery. Horrible Service. I rented a car for 6 days in Denver on a ski trip. I drove over 100 miles to Breckinridge, Colorado. I used the car for 2.5 days. Early morning on the 3rd day the car would not start. Called Roadside assistance and waited in the cold and snowy weather for over an hour for a service person. They try and start the car but determine it is the starter and needs to be towed back to Denver. Phoenix airport location - Loss Damage Waiver scam. 3/10/22, agent Oscar. They trick you into paying for LDW. If you do not specifically state you do not want LDW, they add this to your bill. They know nobody will read through the fine print and once you sign, you have to pay. He is how the scam works. The agent will briefly go over each section you are signing/initialing for on this tiny screen where you cannot read anything. FOX Rent A Car is the worst ever to do business with DO NOT RENT from these people. I had a 3-day reservation for a car in Ft Lauderdale with drop off in Ft. Myers. I pre-paid as I was sure this trip would happen as planned. They gave me an estimated statement of the cost. We did a one way rental from TPA to MIA in Dec, 2021. They refused to provide an invoice at the time of rental return and did not email one as promised. When I got my bank statement, they had charged almost twice what was on the contract. They failed to respond to 3 different attempts to get at the source of the overcharge. I disputed the charge with USAA. Fox told USAA I'd returned the car with the tank empty. I was very careful to return the car over half full, as I'd prepaid for a half tank of gas. We had a horrible experience with Fox rent a car. The lady who helped us was rude, unaccomidating and tried to tell us there were no cars available, even though we had already booked and paid through hopper. We had to argue with them to get our car. It was a very stressful and frustrating way to start a vacation. We recommend that nobody uses fox rental car. There are many other rental car companies who will test you much nicer.
Absolute worst rental car agency in the business, hands down!! Do not rent from them. They lead you to believe they are cheaper than the rest but then rack up the hidden charges! I was only supposed to pay $*** but ended up paying over $***. I told the agent I did not want insurance but they charged me for it anyway. I called 5 times and was transferred to the "billing" department each time and waited on hold for a total of two hours without talking to anyone in the "billing" department. I originally booked Jeep Cherokee or similar, but cancelled on the same day because we would like to experience the Jeep Grand Cherokee or similar.
