Friar Tucks rarely disappoints! Our favorite “special” place to eat in Nevada City! My husband always has the Salmon or any Fish Special they may offer. I love their Chicken dishes or the Prime Rib! Be sure to have Chocolate Fondue for dessert!
Friar Tucks has always been one of our favorite California restaurants ever since we first discovered it 20 years ago. One of the unique things about it is the classic bar and restaurant decor. Additionally, their menu option to do cheese fondue or oil fondue with a choice of shrimp, scallops. meatballs, and beef. This time when we sat down and looked at the menu all they had was a very limited cheese fondue. The shrimp, scallops and beef were no longer available. Nice restaurant with good service and ambience. The band was a little loud but we still enjoyed ourselves. Chicken Marsala was delicious as was the chocolate fondue dessert!
Great restaurant! Reserved table and they were accommodating for our group of 8 people after the Victorian Christmas Festival. We go here every year and really enjoy this place. They always have a band and great food and service!
Our favorite restaurant in Nevada City! The food is wonderful, the service is excellent, and the "Live Music" is always great. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you're ever in the area.
Awesome experience at Friar Tuck's, the food was excellent, the ambiance was great, service was excellent, overall well worth the $$$
The martini we had at the bar before our reservation was excellent! The bartender was great, too. When we were seated for our dinner reservation our waiter was initially great. Attentive and friendly. As it got busier, he disappeared. Our steak was over cooked, the mushrooms were terrible, and we got our salad after our main dish arrived. It was disappointing because it was our anniversary. We did let our waiter know and got 10% off the bill. I’d go back to the bar but not sure I’d go back to the restaurant.
This is a fantastic restaurant and bar. Great food. Awesome ambiance. Great entertainment.
Appetizers were great, as were the entrees; Filet mignon was tender, and perfectly prepared and presented; House-made lasagna was excellent; Maui Pie and Creme Brûlée closed out the feast; Music, ambiance, and service were exceptional!
